Biographies

 

Ted Baker

Ted Baker served as Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of Pershing Trading Company, L.P. (PTC) and a member of the Executive Committee of Pershing LLC. Ted was responsible for the overall management of Pershing’s Trading Services businesses for eight years. He joined Pershing in 1984 following the firm’s acquisition of A.G. Becker and served as President of PTC from 1999 to 2001. Ted’s career in the securities industry includes experience as an Institutional Equity Position Trader and Senior Vice President of marketing at Warburg Paribas Becker. He began his career with A.G. Becker as a trader in 1975. Ted was an active member of several industry organizations. He was a Director of The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) and served on the OCC Audit and Performance Committees. Ted was also a board member and Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange from 1987 to 1991 and again from 1996 to 1999. While serving at the exchange, Ted was a member of the Executive Committee and was Vice Chairman of both the Finance Committee and Business Conduct Committee. Ted served two terms as Chairman of the Options and Derivatives Committee of the Securities Industry Association. He was also a member of the advisory committees of the Chicago Board Options Exchange, NASD, and Montreal Stock Exchange. Ted holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Carroll College and is a member of the college’s Board of Trustees. He joined Olson Global Markets in January 2006 as a Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.

 

Jim Donnelly

Jim Donnelly has experience that is both diverse and extensive in the financial arena. Jim holds a B.A. in economics from Providence College and an M.A. in quantitative economics from Brown University. He began his career in 1972 at Industrial National Bank (now Fleet Bank) as an analyst, portfolio manager and head of trading. He then became Vice President of sales with Carroll, McEntee & McGinley (now HSBK, Inc) and National Sales Manager for Greenwich Capital Markets. In 1980, Jim began working with Jeff Parker to found Technical Data Corporation and Business Research, Inc./First Call and served on their Board of Directors until its sale to Thomson Financial Services in 1986. Jim later joined Thomson Global Markets as Chief Technical Analyst and also served as its Chief Market Strategist. Jim has written a number of published articles and has been quoted on numerous occasions in national publications such as the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Investor’s Business Daily, The International Financial Review, and USA Today. He is currently a Managing Director of Olson Global Markets.

 

Douglas Olson

Douglas (“Buzz”) Olson has extensive experience in trading, sales and the marketing of financial services. His professional career began on the floor of the Chicago Board of Options Exchange, and has included a wide variety of disciplines. He was an institutional trader on both a proprietary and sales basis. His background includes experience in equity securities, listed stock options, and convertible securities. He has designed educational training programs in all of the above disciplines, coordinated the listed options effort of A.G. Becker & Company, and the retail options effort of Kidder Peabody & Co. He was the initial Director of Marketing of the Shark Financial Quotation Service (which became Wang Information Systems), and a key figure in the formulation, development and implementation of its initial marketing strategy. Buzz, a graduate of Harvard University is the founder of Olson Global Markets and a contributing analyst.
